Here Is What a Data Analyst Actually Does.

Imagine a company selling shoes online. Every day they collect thousands of rows of data. Who bought, what they bought, where they came from, what they returned. The data is all there.

Their CEO asked one question on Monday morning: which city should we open our next warehouse in?

Nobody in the company can answer it. The data exists. The ability to read it does not.

A data analyst opens the file, cleans the messy parts, looks for patterns, builds one clear chart, walks into the room, and answers the question in two minutes.

That is the job. That is what this programme teaches you to do.

What each tool does, in plain English
Excel
You already know it exists. This course teaches the parts most people skip. The parts that turn a 10,000-row mess into a clean report a manager can act on in 5 minutes.
SQL
A way to ask questions to a large database. Instead of scrolling through 200,000 rows, you type a question and get back exactly the rows you need. Most people feel comfortable with it by Week 6.
Python
A simple programming language for when the data is too large for Excel. You learn only the parts analysts actually use. Not software engineering. Not mathematics. Just the specific workflow an analyst runs on a normal workday.
Power BI and Tableau
Tools that turn numbers into the kind of dashboards your manager looks at every Monday. After this programme, you build those. You stop being the person looking at them and become the person who made them.

Four Situations. One of Them Is Yours.

Situation 01 You just graduated and the jobs are not coming. You applied. You got some calls. The interviews asked things your degree never covered. Data analytics is one of the clearest paths from graduation to a first offer in India right now because the demand is documented and the supply of trained people is genuinely low. You do not need a STEM degree.
18 weeks is enough to build the specific skills that get you the first offer.
Situation 02 You work a job you want to leave. You are in operations, finance, admin, or sales. You interact with data every day in some form, even if nobody calls it that. Reports. Targets. The spreadsheet your manager sends on Friday. This course takes that existing familiarity and converts it into a career you chose.
Classes run in the evening. You do not have to quit before you land.
Situation 03 You are in a technical role and want to move into analytics. You work in IT support, testing, or a back-office function. You already understand how systems work. SQL will take you a week. Python will take two. What you need is the business context, the project portfolio, and the interview preparation that gets you the analyst title and the salary that comes with it.
Your technical base means you progress faster than most students in this cohort.
Situation 04 You run a business and look at your own numbers without understanding them. Revenue went up last month. You do not know why. Ad spend went up too. You do not know if those two things are connected or coincidental. This course teaches you to answer those questions about your own business using tools you already have access to.
You stop guessing and start making decisions with evidence.
⚠️
This is not for you if: You want to collect a certificate without building a skill. This programme requires 12 to 18 hours per week of real work on actual datasets. Students who put in that time finish employable. Students who want to watch recordings and move on do not, and they would be wasting a seat that someone else needs.
We Are New. Here Is What That Means for You.

We Will Not Pretend to Have 10 Years of Alumni.
Here Is What We Do Have.

DION is a new programme. We are not hiding that. You deserve to know exactly what you are getting before you pay anything.
The batch is permanently 15 people Not a temporary measure until we scale. Fifteen is the number at which an instructor can read your SQL query, review your dashboard, and notice when your logic is going wrong before you build the wrong habit.
Instructors work in analytics today Not people who did this five years ago and now teach full time. People who currently sit in Indian companies running the kind of analysis you are learning to run.
Curriculum built from job descriptions We collected 200 data analyst postings from Naukri and LinkedIn India before writing the syllabus. Every tool in this programme appeared in at least 60 percent of those listings.
We will not publish placement numbers we do not have. When DION graduates land roles, those results go up with real names and real companies. Until then, you get the honest picture.
We will not put reviews here that did not come from actual students. If a section of this page has no testimonials, it is because that cohort has not finished yet.
We will not tell you this is for everyone. If you are not willing to sit with a problem until it makes sense, this will not work for you. We would rather say that now than take your money and have you drop out in Week 6.
The free demo class exists for exactly this reason. Attend a live 60-minute session before you pay a single rupee. Ask every hard question you have. Decide with full information. If it is not the right fit, you have lost 60 minutes and nothing else.

18 Weeks. What Actually Happens.

Four Phases. Each One Builds Directly on the Last.

The biggest failure in data training is teaching tools in isolation. DION is structured so that by Week 14, you are running the same end-to-end process a junior analyst at an Indian company runs on a normal Tuesday.
1
Weeks 1 to 4 Reading Data
Job-ready skill on its own
Most Indian companies still run on Excel. You start here because it teaches you the logic of analysis before the tools get complex. By the end of Phase 1 you can take any messy spreadsheet, clean it, summarise it, and write a report a manager can act on.
What you cover
Excel formulas analysts actually use
Pivot tables built for real business questions
Data cleaning, the part that takes 60% of analyst time
Basic statistics in plain language
Business memo writing for non-technical readers
2
Weeks 5 to 8 Asking Questions of Large Datasets
Millions of rows, no problem
When a company has three years of transaction data, it does not live in Excel. It lives in a database. By Week 8 you can write queries that answer real business questions on datasets with millions of rows, and explain the results to a manager who has never heard of SQL.
What you cover
How databases are structured and why it matters
SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, JOINs, subqueries
Real business questions, not abstract exercises
Explaining query results in plain English
3
Weeks 9 to 13 Python, Predictions, and Dashboards
Build the dashboards your manager uses
Python arrives in Week 9 because by then you have eight weeks of analytical thinking behind you. The programming logic clicks faster when you already understand what you are trying to do with data. You learn the specific parts of Python that analysts use, not software engineers.
What you cover
Python basics from zero, covered quickly
Pandas for working with large datasets
Basic machine learning without a statistics degree
Power BI dashboards for weekly team use
Tableau visual reports shared across organisations
4
Weeks 14 to 18 Build Something Real, Then Go Get the Job
Live portfolio, 3 mock interviews
The capstone is not a test. It is a finished portfolio project built on a real industry dataset you choose. You leave with a PDF report, a live Tableau dashboard link, a rewritten resume, three mock interviews behind you, and direct referrals to companies hiring analysts right now.
What you cover
End-to-end project with instructor feedback at every stage
Presenting findings to non-technical audiences, practised three times
Resume rewriting for data roles
Mock interviews: SQL, Python, statistics, case studies
Your Portfolio

Four Projects Built on Real Business Situations.
Not Practice Files.

Each project is designed around the kind of question a real Indian company has paid someone to answer. Messy data. Missing values. A manager waiting for the result by Thursday.
01
E-Commerce Sales Analysis
14 months of transaction data for an Indian online brand. Messy dates, inconsistent category labels, missing values. You clean it, build a pivot summary, identify the three product categories with the highest return rates, and write a one-page business memo explaining what the company should change next quarter.
Excel Data Cleaning Pivot Tables Business Writing
02
Customer Behaviour in SQL
A PostgreSQL database representing 18 months of SaaS platform transactions. You write 12 queries from scratch, each answering a specific business question. Which cohort has the highest 60-day retention. Which pricing tier drives the most revenue in Tier 2 cities. Every query comes with a plain English explanation of what the result means.
SQL PostgreSQL Business Interpretation
03
Loan Default Prediction
A public Indian banking dataset. You clean the data in Python, build a logistic regression model that predicts which loan applications are likely to default, and evaluate its accuracy. Then you build a Power BI dashboard that shows a risk team the key indicators in a format they can use in a Monday meeting.
Python Pandas Scikit-learn Power BI
04
Full Capstone Report
You choose your industry: Indian retail, fintech, or healthcare. Full analysis cycle. Data audit, SQL extraction, Python analysis, Tableau dashboard, and a 15-minute live presentation to the review panel. The finished project is a PDF report and a live Tableau link. Both go on your resume. Hiring companies in DION's network receive this project alongside your application.

What Support Looks Like at 15 Students Per Batch

Your Instructor Reads Your Work Every Week.
Not a Forum. Not an Automated Grade.

When the batch is 15 people, the programme works differently. Your instructor has 15 sets of project work and enough time to give each one a real review. That is how you build the right habits. Watching a video does not do that.
Weekly live sessions, all 18 weeks You ask about the problem you were stuck on this week. You get an answer that applies to your specific work, not a generic explanation of the concept.
Personal project reviews on every submission Written feedback from your instructor on every project before you move to the next phase. Your SQL query that returns the wrong result gets looked at. Your Power BI dashboard gets a specific comment about what to change.
Discord community from Day 1 Study groups, peer accountability, dataset sharing, and job referrals from students and alumni in the network. The community stays active after you graduate.
Your Python code gets corrected, not just marked Code that works but is written in a way that would confuse anyone reading it later gets corrected with an explanation of why. That is how you build the right habits from the start.
Placement Support

Most People Fail Analytics Interviews on the Business Case,
Not the Technical Part. DION Prepares You for Both.

An interviewer hands you a dataset and asks what you would do with it. Most candidates freeze. Not because they do not know the tools. Because nobody ever practised that with them under pressure. DION runs three full mock interview sessions in Phase 4 specifically because of that pattern.
Resume rewritten for data roles Every project you built gets described with the language Indian recruiters search for on Naukri. Tools, dataset size, business question answered, outcome found. ATS-formatted. Ready within 48 hours of your capstone.
Three mock interview rounds SQL live queries and interpretation. Python and statistics with real problems from Indian interview banks. Business case with a dataset and a mock panel. Recorded feedback after each session.
Business communication training You present a data analysis to a non-technical audience three times during Phase 4, with increasing difficulty. Most candidates fail final rounds here. After this programme, you do not.
Hiring referrals to companies in DION's network Your resume goes to companies with context attached. They know what DION graduates can do before they read the application. Support continues until you accept an offer, not until the course ends.

Straight Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a maths background? No. The statistics covered here are the ones analysts actually use day to day. Averages, trends, comparisons, basic predictions. No calculus. No linear algebra. If you can read a percentage and understand what a bar chart shows, you have enough to start.
Do I need coding experience? No. Python starts in Week 9. By then you have eight weeks of Excel and SQL behind you. Most students who were afraid of coding find the logic familiar by the time it arrives because the analytical thinking is already there.
Is this only for people who want to become data scientists? No. Data scientist is a senior role that usually requires years of experience. The roles this programme prepares you for are data analyst, business analyst, and BI developer. All three are hiring actively across India right now at good salaries. Data scientist is a direction you can move toward later from this foundation.
How is this different from free courses online? Free courses teach tools in isolation. This programme teaches you to solve business problems with those tools in the sequence and workflow you would use in an actual job. Every project is reviewed by a real instructor. The mock interviews are run by people who know what interviewers ask. Placement support continues after the course ends.
What if I attend the free demo and decide it is not for me? Nothing happens. You attended a live class and made a decision with real information. No follow-up sales pressure. No hard close. That is the only way this works honestly.
